Welcome to Italy!  The Scotts Valley Chamber of Commerce invites you to join us on our fantastic excursion to Italy.  We will be sponsoring a “Flavor of Tuscany” tour, October 1 – 11, 2010 and invite you to join us! 

Upon arrival in Rome, you’ll be escorted to your hotel in the heart of the “eternal city.”  While in Rome, you’ll enjoy sights such as St. Peter Basilica, the Coliseum, and the Forum.  Admire the collection of ancient and Renaissance art gathered by Popes over the ages at the Vatican Museum, before entering the Sistine Chapel, where the Popes are elected.  Following 2 nights in Rome, you’ll stop in the well preserved medieval hillside town of Assisi, home of St. Frances.  Visit the St. Francisco Basilica which today houses some of the great 13th and 14th century frescoes.  Spend the next 6 nights Under the Tuscan Sun in the town of Montecatini Terme.  During day trips to the surrounding area, we’ll explore Florence, Siena, and San Gimignano, and see sights such as the Duomo, Pitti Palace, Santa Croce Basilica, and The Accademia, home to Michelangelo’s David and paintings by Botticelli as well as many others.  This journey will also take you through the region known for red wine, classic architecture as well as landscapes rich in vineyards, olive groves and cypresses, where we will enjoy the Flavor of Tuscany with fine wine and olive oil tastings. We’ll return to Rome for our final evening and farewell dinner, as we say our goodbyes to beautiful Italy.  Pack your bags and get ready for wine tasting, rich cultural experiences, and lifelong memories!
