Since 1970, Scotts Valley has grown from a small town of 3,600 persons to a community of 11,385 in 2000. This high rate of growth is expected to continue; the Association of Monterey County Governments (AMBAG) forecasts that ScottsValley is expected to gain approximately 2,000 new residents over the next decade, an increase of 16%.
